Paddling – in need of a tug

After my last really in depth post I discovered a new survival technique – purely by accident.

I had posted on my Facebook status that I needed a hug and promptly got several replies including one saying that we had to keep on swimming along”.

This got me thinking. I have several friends in a variety of stressful situations and, if we all had a “rubber ring” we could all support each other in our swimming along. We could swim along supported by the float that is a cyber hug or a nice word or, if things got really bad, we could just float for a while but that would be okay as each of our rubber rings would be connected by tow ropes and if one of us struggled they can relax and our friends can gently tug them along as we paddled gently to recover or even floated without any energy expenditure on our part.

So if you ever see me post something stating I am paddling – that is me having a brief respite and possibly struggling with something so I need a gentle tug on my tow rope.

Tonight I am paddling but if you need to paddle along with me you are more than welcome to throw me your tow rope. A problem shared and all that.
